Drew this awhile back. Just got around to coloring it in PSE8. Been playing with layers and different brushes. I hope you enjoy.

This is a good start! you had a very nice character design and expression of the character. Nice use of colors, just give more highlights and vibrant when you are painting/coloring it. use the Blend Modes like Overlay or Soft light to increase saturation and shadow and even highlights. If you are aiming of a digital painting look, blend the outlines (lineart) or if the lineart is needed, clean up the lines.
